About Me

MY NAME IS Steve Amato

I became interested in woodworking in High School. After graduation from High School I went to work for various cabinet shops, upholsters, restorers, and finishers. In 1982 I started Amato’s Furniture Repair Service. My favorite job this year was working in the new ESPN Sports Center Studio where I repaired a cabinet that was delivered damaged. I asked to stay on - maybe do a feature “Talking Yanks” but they said, “you do nice furniture repair - stay with that” - but how about a photo instead !

Another year has passed and not without a favorite job and it is working up at West Point. I have a new account and this insurance company has been sending me to West Point regularly to repair and adjust transportation relocation damages for their service members. A beautiful County and an honor to help the members and be among America’s bravest.
